Coronavirus, with apologies to Dr. Seuss

Skokie (Ill.) — History

I wrote this poem in late March, 2020 when the gravity of the pandemic was starting to become apparent. I sent it to an editor of the Chicago Tribune who asked if they could publish it as a "Letter to the Editor". It appeared in many of the Tribune's suburban papers including Skokie, Lincolnwood, Park Ridge, Niles, Morton Grove and other publications as well as on-line. Since its publication many have expressed their thanks for this poem saying that it offered them hope and helped them smile during these difficult times.
