Stories in the Time of Covid

Description

We never expected to experience a pandemic. Telling stories is one way to organize our experiences, process our emotions, and make memories. We invite residents in and around Skokie to share stories, images, and expressions you’ve created in responding to the uncertainties of this time.

Be part of the historic record of these momentous times and help us tell the story of now for future generations. Share your experiences--pictures, writing, video, artwork, audio recordings, and more--in our Stories in the Time of COVID digital collection. Describe a day in your life (balancing family, work, and/ or school); upload a picture of yourself in a mask or something you made in quarantine; share a poem you wrote; tell us about your favorite business (closed or still thriving); reflect on protest or political unrest that you've witnessed or participated in; screenshot your social media posts; discuss how you've experienced loss; share what you've learned, what you're dreaming about, and where you want to go next.

We would especially love to see submissions from Skokie and the surrounding community, but everyone's stories--all ages and voices--are welcome. We will continue collecting submissions through the months ahead. Questions? Please email us.
